2020 isn’t over yet.
It’s June.
It’s halftime.
We still got another half.
We can still win it.
~Doc Rivers
Doc Rivers, head coach of the NBA’s Los Angeles Clippers, said this in a recent interview. As soon as I heard it, I had to grab a pen and jot it down. Powerful. Regardless of what’s happened so far in 2020, I appreciated his perspective and encouragement. Great coaches use the halftime break to highlight what’s gone well thus far in the competition and to communicate any adjustments needed for a strong finish.
Here’s your halftime exercise.
- Rest, rehydrate, refocus.
- List all of the challenges you’ve faced so far this year (acknowledge them and release them!).
- List all of the positive things that have happened, especially the pleasant surprises (More family time? Deeper connections? Healthier eating? Walks?).
- There are still 6 months left in 2020! Make the necessary adjustments now to finish strong.
What opportunities do you have now that you’ve never had before?
You got this.
