2020 isn’t over yet.

It’s June.

It’s halftime.

We still got another half.

We can still win it.

~Doc Rivers

Doc Rivers, head coach of the NBA’s Los Angeles Clippers, said this in a recent interview. As soon as I heard it, I had to grab a pen and jot it down. Powerful. Regardless of what’s happened so far in 2020, I appreciated his perspective and encouragement. Great coaches use the halftime break to highlight what’s gone well thus far in the competition and to communicate any adjustments needed for a strong finish.

Here’s your halftime exercise.

  1. Rest, rehydrate, refocus.
  2. List all of the challenges you’ve faced so far this year (acknowledge them and release them!).
  3. List all of the positive things that have happened, especially the pleasant surprises (More family time? Deeper connections? Healthier eating? Walks?).
  4. There are still 6 months left in 2020! Make the necessary adjustments now to finish strong.

What opportunities do you have now that you’ve never had before?

You got this.
